Cut Up Hip Hop Sonnet

This is one of my early semester projects that I worked on with Marie Canieso and Bret Burton. We used the William Burroughs cut up technique as inspiration to randomly cut songs from 90′s hip hop songs. Specifically Blackstreet’s “No Diggity No Doubt” and Salt N Peppa’s “Shoop”. We then arranged these lyrics after they were cut, using but breaking where we needed to the rules for a Shakespearean Sonnet. Check out the link to the presentation and video here.
